LEIGHTON LINNING BIOGRAPHY
Leighton Linning is an entertainment attorney and entertainment business professional licensed in Idaho and Tennessee. Leighton has over 23 years of experience workings as a musician or business professional. He received his Bachelor of Science in jazz studies from Brigham Young University-Idaho, his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Nashville School of Law, and his Executive MBA (Entrepreneur Management) from Brigham Young University-Provo.
Leighton has been leading and managing Wholesome Health and Aesthetics in Idaho Falls, Idaho since 2019. Under his leadership the clinic has won multiple prestigious awards for several years in a row. He enjoys working with the amazing staff and loves to see clients improve from the inside out. While managing the medical and aesthetics clinic he has continued to practice law in Tennessee. In 2023, Leighton was approved by the Idaho Supreme Court to practice law in the Great State of Idaho and the Federal District Court.
Leighton has a variety of experience working on projects including The Billy Block Show, CMT’s Awards Show, Sony/ATV’s Rights and Reclamation Project, Musicians' Hall of Fame Awards Show, K-Love Fan Awards Show, Premier’s Camp Electric, Premier’s Winter Jam, Kirk Cameron’s Revive US and Nashville Star. He has been successful in providing transactional and litigation services for nationally renowned musicians, television personalities, artists, publishers and labels.
Leighton is passionate about civil services within the music industry. He volunteers his services each year for The First and The Worst benefit concert presented by Music Health Alliance (“MHA”). This star-studded concert secures substantial resources that have been instrumental in MHA’s $30 million in health-care cost reductions.
As a law student, he founded the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, earned the prestigious moot court award (top litigator), and graduated within the top ten of his class. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Nashville Bar Association, Federal Court (Middle District of Tennessee) and is an active member of SOLID (Society of Leaders in Development), YEP (Young Entertainment Professionals), AMA (American Music Association) , CMA (Country Music Association), and Blues Association. He has been featured as a speaker for Tennessee Volunteer Professionals for the Arts, Nashville’s Filmmaker’s Guild, and Music Business Association Convention.
Leighton believes that the entertainment industry would benefit from advocates who are positioned and authorized to make uplifting contributions in entertainment production and consumption.
Leighton was raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho and later served a two-year mission in Atlanta, Georgia for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is married to Melissa Linning and they have four beautiful daughters. He enjoys spending his free time with his family playing music or dancing. He plays in several bands including the 40 Somethin’ Band with his mom Larraine Taylor and 3G Country with his Uncle Brant Barzee.
